When pulling the scrapers, it was realized that traction and manuverabiltiy was a problem. This was an experiment in 1957 to help those problems. The front wheels of the tractor and scraper were removed, with a gooseneck hitch between the two. The traction and manuverability were greatly improved. However it was very unstable and undrivable, and quite a ride! The idea was shelved for the time being...

I wonder how they steered it? Differential Brakes? Crossed their fingers and hoped for the best?
