Just picked up a JD #5 mower and need some parts,mainly cutter bar stuff.

So far,cutter bar stuff,a few fingers,a pattern for the hay board,an extra pitman arm assembly,maybe even the quick mount,or what ever other means JD used to attach the mower to a JD tractor.I have a 50 and a 60 and either one could pull the mower.I,m going down to our local dealer tommorrow and talk mowers.

I am also looking for some parts for a #5 mower ..I am looking for a Foot Lever Bracket part # Z 978 H . Thank you . Doyle

Tractor Supply Co carries parts for model 5. Pittman arm is about $11 blade guards are about $ 3.50 each (21 total on 7 ft mower) and I bought brand new sickle blade for $58.00 at Family Center in Harrisonville, Mo. ... I'm also looking for parts for 9 ft model (8?) bracket that attaches pittman to flywheel.

I know this is delayed,but the mower project got shelved for a while,my 50 resto is so close to being done.Thanks for the info about the parts suppliers,now I can relax and order what I need when I'm ready.

Getting ready again to start resto on # 5 mower and need a few things,can someone direct me in the right direction?
