Has anyone here used one of those "johnny buckets"?? they mount on the front of a garden tractor and lift about 2 feet off the groud.

Hi. I haven't used one, but I lurk over at the Cub Cadet website and several guy's over there have them and do like them. They claim they are as handy as a loader for moving around dirt and mulch, but you can't use them as a portable crane or to load things in a pickup/on a trailer because of the limited lift height they have. I guess it mostly depends on what you are wanting to use it for. I myself am hoping to find a true loader someday for my tractors so that is why I have passed on one. I do have a rear mounted bucket that fits on a sleeve hitch. It isn't the Scoop-Tote brand one though, it looks more like a rear mounted version of the Bucateer (same function as a Johnny Bucket, but was made in the 70's). I haven't used it to move dirt or snow, but it does make a handy tractor mounted dumpcart, especially when I use it on my 140 mounted on the 3pt to my Brinly 3pt to sleeve hitch adapter.

I've never used a Johnny bucket before. I have an Allis Chalmers B-12 lawnmower with a factory front-end loader that will load a full size pick-up truck.

I haven't used one but my neighbor bought last fall a Kubota lawn tractor with not only a front bucket but a small back hoe on it. Sweet looking package. May have to borrow it.
