Desperately need a good block for my model 60. Or, if someone can offer a suitable permanent repair for a crack in the cylinder wall, above the piston travel.
All help and advice appreciated!

Does the crank run along the bore, or around the bore? Around the bore sounds like a classic case of overtorquing the headstuds. IF this is how yours is cracked, you can have a repair sleeve shoved into that cylinder and it should work fine. Had a cracked A block fixed like that about 10 years ago and I ran it a couple years after the repair w/o problems before the block was replaced with a power block.
