Heading to the airport in an hour to fly to Copenhagen for a few days, then depart for a Baltic cruise, leaving from Copenhagen Thursday, stopping at Sweden, Finland, St. Petersburg-Russia ( I have to say it that way as living in Florida, people can't understand what is so exciting about going to St. Pete...Tampa right?), Estonia, Poland, Norway, and back to Denmark. Really excited to see what some of Russia is like these days. My wife just keeps saying "Russia...whoa!"
Might not be able to visit this site as it is tough to say what internet access I may find, though last spring in the Med it was decent from the ship.
Lucky for me I chose to take some vacation time right now, what with the fires threatening the area near JPL. All the pictures I see are places that I drive by every day. Scary. Got an e-mail message that they are closing the lab to non-essential personnel. Hope everyone gets through this all right.
Y'all be safe.

Drop a line when you get back.

Made it home after a 26 hour day. Got up at 6 am in Copenhagen, midnight eastern time, then had a passenger get ill over Greenland, and they diverted us to Montreal for a five hour wait. Missed flights, but got out on the last one to Tallahassee, and into bed at 2 am. Safe and sound, and mostly sane. Ah, the joys of travel. Nice trip. Lots of scenery and great history. I put some photos on Facebook as it is a good place for my family and friends to find them. Just search for Frank Boerger, and you can even see a few photos of your truly.

So which was better or do you recommend more, this one or last years Mediterranean cruise?

Actually both cruises were this year, the Med in February and the Baltic in September. Prior to this, we travelled by motor coach tours, and probably will next year when we go to central Europe, unless we take a river cruise from the north to the south.
The two areas are very different places, one is very north, and the other very south as well as east. It's tough to compare Egypt or Greece with Russia or Norway. Both areas have such long and interesting histories that they both make interesting visits. The natural scenery was more vibrant in the north, and the 16th century and forward history was more impressive. Now in the south, the land is more sparse, deserts and rocks, but it's tough to beat the Parthenon or the Giza pyramids when it comes to a "Wow" moment.

I guess I’ll just have to put both of them on my list of must see’s.
Thanks for the reviews.
