I have a LX133 with a kholer 13hp motor. The problem is when the engine is warm it will not restart if shut down. No other problems. Spark plug is good. It is getting fuel and has a good air filter. The engine runs strong so I don't think that I have a compression problem. I am thinking that it is in the coil. Any help would be great.
Thanks

RM, there could be other reasons for the problem, but checking out the coil would be advisable. I know it is difficult to check for spark just after the problem occurs, but with a helper to sit on the seat, hold down the clutch, and turn the key while you check fire at the plug, you'll know if it is losing spark at that time-or not. Seems like it would quit when the coil gets hot enough while running, but maybe it heat soaks while shut down. You might find a big ol' mouse nest under the shroud! Could also be a problem in the ignition switch, wiring, or safety switches.
You can download a free engine manual from www.kohlerengines.com . Look under "CV" series. There are good trouble shooting procedures as well as specifications for checking the coil resistance. Let us know how it goes.
