I am getting ready to sandblast the ole back blade that my dad had. I use it for snow in the winter. i am gonna take the data plate off it in order to get a good clean up of the rust under it. I plan on using a drill on the heads of the rivets that hold the plate on.

What is the procedure of getting the plate back on. I only need two rivets for the rest of my life, I guess unsure.gif

Dave;
Any chance they are the same size Deere used on tractor's? I'm pretty sure those are still available. If not, try an industrial supply house. They just tap in. It will need some type of flute to hold it in place.

thanks M Man. Kinda what I thought. Guess the first thing is to get the old ones drilled out and figure out a hole diameter.

I am wondering if it is old age that is the reason that I contemplate things like this. rolleyes.gif

i wouldn't spend a lot of time trying to find the right size rivet. just buy some that are bigger than what you need and redrill the hole for them. i've heard that some people use rivets for sickle mowers for rivets in a case like this. you'd have to redrill the plate to match. things get better the older you get. you just don't know it.

if it uses the same rivets as a tractor Sn plate. The rivet you need is the Same as what is used on the Handle of 720 730 Center Link handle
