Shelby County Tractor Drive and Show

Family and friends of Chris Barker are sponsoring a Tractor Drive and Show Sunday, June 14, 2009. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at Sloan Implement, Route 16, Shelbyville.

The 23 mile route will wind around the beautiful Lake Shelbyville area beginning at 9 a.m. from Sloan Implement and return around 11:30 a.m. Lunch is being donated by Sloan Implement and Terry Warren. The tractors will be on display at Sloan Implement after lunch until 3 p.m.

All makes of tractors are welcome. Tractors must be able to maintain a 10 mile per hour speed limit. Tractors with dual wheels are will not be allowed on the drive but can be on display for the show. All drivers must possess a valid driver’s license and tractors must be insured. No extra riders without a “buddy” seat.

A free will donation will be accepted for the Chris Barker Memorial Scholarship through the Shelby County Farm Bureau Foundation.

Special thanks to all that participated in this event. We had 104 tractors total with 95 going on the drive. We had great weather and a wonderful day, couldn't have asked for more.
