This 1947 A was bought around 1958 By my Grandfather for my Great grandfathers first tractor on the farm. It was $1,000 and came with mounted cultivators and planters. I started driving this tractor when I was 4 so that would be around 1979. We parked it around 1994 and the shed fell down over it around 1998. I dug it out and started fixing it in 2008.

It had no major mechanical problems, all 4 tires held air, fluids looked like tar or dog poop. Fairly easy fix up job.

Here it is under the shed, you can see some of the attachments here too;

Here she is leaving the farm for the first time in 50 years, she drove up on the trailer under her own power;

Here she is torn down for minor repairs and cleaning and painting;

Here she is after some oven cleaning and pressure washing and sanding and cleaning;

Now that she is running good and serviced and all known mechanical issues and leaks are fixed it is time for paint. I decided that in the interest of originality and to show how good of shape they were in that I would not do any body work or dent repairs on any of the tractors. (plus I aint real good at bondo)
First she gets PPG epoxy primer then PPG base then PPG clear coat;

Here she is with a previous and later project behind her;

And finally she is returned to the farm, hopefully the next shed wont fall;

Very nice!!! I know what all those mods are just not ever been around anything like that. No one in my family can do that to a diesel engine. Closest my family comes to that is my uncle owns a welding shop and does A LOT of work on gas burners and he can do little things on diesels but not a lot. The powerstroke we have was supposed to be mine but project started costing to much and we had put 3 different engines in it and 2 different ZF5's to find the right engine that was a giant paperweight. I also gunna tell you theres a forum i'm on all the time other than this one you might be interested in if you havn't already seen it. It's www.powerstrokenation.com i enjoy it. they have everyday pickups to draggers so its pretty interesting. Nice pickup though!!!
