I am a new member living in massachusetts. I am six months into the restoration of a 1950 BW. I also purchased a 45W loader to restore with the tractor. So far I have rebuilt the Wico C magneto and the generator. I also saved the radiator shutter assembly from the trash pile. I am presently working on the steering drag links which have been pretty well bashed from the looks of them. We have about 1/4" play in one tie rod end and the front wheels wobble horribly in any gear over 4th. She has good even compression readings and is running pretty well, since I fixed the broken impulse coupler spring in the mag. I don't think I will have to touch the engine assembly. Nothing sounds quite like a two cylinder tractor with a governor that talks to you as the load changes.

I joined the East Coast Antique Tractor Club and enjoy their newsletter from time to time. It is a great project and I am having nothing but fun. Driving it up and down the street with a big silly grin has the neighbors talking I'm sure. I look forward to learning from the folks on this site, and maybe even contribute a thought or two of my own.

Thanks for the welcome! I see you have a BW as well. Do you have any pictures to share?

I have a '48 B but it's a narrow front with a rola-matic, and a model 8W sickle mower that I use during the summer to make a little spending cash.

These pictures were taken when my wife and I were painting it. I can't find any pictures when it was completed.

Very pretty! I have a way to go before mine looks like that.

Roy,

Make sure you post your progress. The paint job isn't perfect but it's good enough for me.
