Great work so far!

I've heard that the BO brakes are very VERY hard to find. You should probably place some wanted ads in the Two Cylinder and Green Magazine. It worked for me with DI brake parts I needed. Be prepared to hold onto your wallet though.

Well I got A little spare time this week to work on the BO. Is it me or does this tractor keep getting smaller? Bolted rearend housing back on , Removed everything else. Cleaned everything up and even got to spray A little paint behind flywheel and underneath. Here are A few more pics. I also had to put one on here with my main mechanic Hunter sitting on it. He says he can't wait to drive it. I will keep you guys posted. Scott

Scott..... I do have to admit, I like the wire hose clamps too. They seem to add that extra touch . Keep up the good work. Dave

Looks very good. I'm working on a 1939 BO. My thread is down below somewhere. But it's been too cold for me to do alot of work lately. I sure like the 'streamlined' looks of the orchard tractors.

Well I finally got to start the BO this weekend, Turned over about 6 times and it started up. It ran A little rough for A minute but it smoothed out. I got to detail my letters on the radiator, painted both front wheels, and put them on. I painted both rear centers and put one of them on, the other one is still wet. I finally decided how I wanted to do my exaust this week and finished it. I'll keep ya posted , Scott

Today is the day I have been looking foward to for what seems like a long time. Put the back tires back on, Made A temporary fuel tank bracket out of A roll of shop towels, Tied it on with A strap, and drove it outside. Hunter finally got to drive the BO. Looks like next I am going to start on the hood. Mabey have it done by next weekend. Brandon thanks for the comments. No I havent found any brakes yet. I emailed McGrew but I got the email back, I thought I might give them a call next week. Somebody tell me if I have got the gauges in the right places . I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks Scott and Hunter

I popped onto this section of this site figuring it might help me to get a little pumped up or motivated to get something done on my project tractor. I have no garage (not that my tractors will fit in anyway) and it's cold here in Western PA these days. What I can do however is bring parts into my workplace and work on the pieces... ie my tin work.

I was feeling pretty good about myself and what I accomplished the last couple weeks. We were shut down from Christmas eve until today... Jan 5th... so I was able to do things without getting in the way of production and not having to move things out of the way every day. I got most of my sheet metal dents pretty well banged out and in primer. Still need to scuff and squirt these things several more times with the heavy build primer to get them sweet and ready for the green paint.

So I'm feeling pretty good about this and then read this thread and see that Scott has gotten more accomplished in three months than I have gotten done in the last ... maybe year and a half !!! Now I have to give myself some allowance in that my helper has four legs and no opposing thumbs and doesn't speak my language etc., but geeze...

So what's your secret? Do you chain the boy to the work and tell him no food until he's done removing all the paint off the casting? Or maybe Hunter has been keeping the pressure on you to get it done so he could take it for a spin?

Seriously... That's gonna be a really nice machine when you two finish it up and I'm sure the two of you will always remember the times spent working on it and what a fine accomplishment it is.

Hey... are yinz guys for hire? Maybe I could give you my 820 for a month or so... and my R that got smashed... and the two of you could finish them up real quick like, so I can have them ready for spring? Kidding... for me it's as much about the playing of the game as it is the quest for the final finished tractor.

Anywho...
Good job guys!! Gonna look like a new one any day now at the rate you're going.
Happy New year!
Bob

That BO is looking sweet. I hope too rebuild a tractor with my son when he gets a couple more years on him. He just turned three on January fourth so he wouldn't be much help or too memorable for him. Also nice job on the 530. Take care and have fun.
