rolleyes.gif I am restoring a 1941 John Deere A tractor. Gotten through most of the mechanical getting ready to do electric, tin etc.

Does anyone know whether the original gauges on this tractor were white or black faced?

The tractor was converted to an alternator and I think I will stick with it. Does anyone know if the wiring harness requires something different if I stay with an alternator system?

Comments on paint, grill restoration, wheel prep would all be appreciated.

Thanks, VstarPaul

Post this on the Main Discussion Forum and you will get some help. I can tell you that the gauges are white. Also that there is not any wiring diagrams from Deere showing how to wire an alternator but if you will do a "Search" there are many replys and directions on how to do it. John T is the main man on electrical and F-I-T is good also. F-I-T is good with paint questions and does a lot of very nice paint jobs.
