Hello folks,

I am new to this forum. I own a 1983 JD 314 tractor which I have been rebuilding for several months. I disassembled the entire tractor. (except the transmission and the engine) cleaned the original paint (at least what was left of it) and powder coated all of the parts. This includes the sheet metal parts which have been coated JG green. This project all started with having to put 4 new tires on the tractor, then while the tires were off the rims I figured I should clean and paint the rims then on and on and on. I have gone over every part, replacing those which were badly worn, improving those which I could. Now the fun part is putting all the nice clean parts back together. Only one problem, I am having a tough time remembering the exact orientation of some parts (yes, I know, I should have taken pictures during the disassembly). Time really got away from me, weeks turned into many months. Is there a good online source of a parts diagram for this model? The JD website has a limited parts diagram but I'm looking for more detail.

Also, this JD 314 has been one of the best tools I ever bought. I bought it used in 1984 and have used it for cutting an acre of grass every week and then plowing snow off at least 6 driveways per storm in the winter plus hauling hundreds of yards of mulch, gravel, soil, etc.. All this without a single breakdown, incredible reliability. After this rebuild, it will be good for many many years!!!

Thanks to all!!

Hi Jim, It might be worth buying a parts manual from Mother Deere. Or, you can keep an eye on eBay and the "for sale" ads at <www.weekendfreedommachines.org>. Good Luck!

Hey Jim, Know it might be to late, but you could also try

http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.dee...PageServlet_Alt

It is the on line JD parts catalog. It has been a great help for me.
