This project has been underway for a few months and there is a much more complete journal over on the jdcrawlers.com site but I thought I'd share a few pictures on this board for those who don't see too many crawlers. This first picture is where I started after using the crawler to clear out 25 walnut trees and create my wife's riding arena.

The crawler was painted construction yellow at some point in its life but you can see green paint sticking out here and there. It's one of the more rare 1010CA crawlers and will be green with the yellow undercarriage again when done. This one is a gas version of which there were less than 400 made.

Here's a shot after the first week.

Hoping to remember where all the parts go.

Just before the final push to strip it down to parts.

Down to the track frames.

I disassembled the transmission tonight and will have to wait until the first/second speed cluster gear arrives to start putting everything back together. All the engine parts are in and I've just got a little more cleanup on the block before I assemble it. Altogether, it's coming along nicely although I've never broken or stripped as many bolts and fought with as many frozen parts as I have with this project. Probably nothing new to you folks but sure has been an experience for me having worked on mostly cars, trucks, and airplanes up to this point.

All for now.
