I thought I should introduce myself since I'm new to the johnny popper board. I've spent a lot of time over at the ytmag, but I thought I would be making my horizons wider by joining here also.

My name is Will Mayberry. My home is in middle TN. I currently work for John Deere Consrtuction and Foresty Division at the test site in Laredo, TX. (Shhh ....dont tell anybody where we test stuff) My job is to fix whatever is wrong with prototype machines, which is sometimes somewhat interesting to say the least. I have lots of old junk at my home in TN. My tractors inclulde a late 720D standard with rockshaft with only a hair over a thousand hours, my grandfathers late B, and my grandfathers late 4020 which he bought new in 1970. It has a hair over 19000 hours. Its been a good one. These tractors are among sevral implements and a few tractors of the red color. My pasion is farming, but its just not in the cause, so I'll just pretend instead.

My first tractor drive alone was at age 6 on the late B raking hay with a side delivery bar rake. They put me on the 2cyl because I could reach the clutch on it. I still remember driving the 4020 stopping by putting my back against the front of the seat to mash in the clutch. I'd pop it out of gear and then slide over to catch the brakes. (taking off on a hill was out of the question.) Anything that is done at that age cant be denied as one grows older. Even though I'm older now and have owned lots of tractors there is still nothing sweeter to me than the sound of the late B to go along with the smell of that exhaust.
