My name is Jerry and I live in western North Carolina near Great Smokey Mountian National Park. I am origionally from Kansas and my grandfather was a wheat farmer/cattle rancher in eastern Colorado. It was from him that I obtained my love for old iron and particularly john deere's (must be genetic). He saved everything so I was able to salvage from his estate a jd 70 gas wf, jd 46' D, and a jd "one way" disc. I also am restoring a 1929 model a ford and 1935 chev grain truck that was his. But, as far a jd's, I have restored the 70 a few years ago and have not started on the D yet BECAUSE I have worked on some other things in between. First, I like implements, too so I have restored a 290 planter, kba disc, #5 sickle mower, #45w loader, horse drawn lister/planter. I am currently restoring a 41 h and turning it from hand start to electric. Other projects in line are a #25 combine, 490 planter, #45 loader, 47 AN , 48 b, and a 53 ford jubilee. I used to own a body shop so I like the sheet metal work and painting, but am still learning in the mechanical arena. That's why I am tearing down the h as everything is smaller. I look foreward to learning from everyone. I am 52 years old in a few days. I am a dentist by day and connect with my farming roots with my old iron by night and days off.

Welcome to the board. Sounds like you have quite a collection. I'm sure you'll find there are some on the board that have a vast knowledge and will be able to help you with anything you encounter.
