Full Version: Finally!

Finally said the heck with everything today, I'm getting that 140 back together! (yeah I know, Mama wants her garage bay back).
For those of you who have not followed the continuing saga. I've had this 140 H-3 for about 7 years and mowed about 1 year trouble free with it. It breaks it gets parked. Between thrown rods, munched pistons and a mysterious smoking problem it's been the tractor from h**l!
This spring I bought another block for it and pulled the engine out and turned the whole engine mess over to Donnie Shipman (locally very competitive in garden tractor and antique pulling) and said build it strong and reliable. Well after some cussin' and tweekin' it's all together and running sweet. Poured rain all day here so I could only take it for a quick cruise around the lawn once between downpours. I'll try to get a few minutes free this week to get the deck back under it and hope it won't rain next weekend so I can spend some quality time running in the engine. Before the kids get their grubs on it! laugh.gif

I wish I could find the time to get ours together again.. The engine's been fixed up with all new stuff and has been on the workbench for 3 years. The rest of the tractor is in buckets and on crates scattered all over creation.

Worst of all, I forget how everything goes back together since i've tore it all down to nothing. Even paint colors of specific stuff.

Dad bought the thing new in '74 and we've banged the crap out of it. It's been a good tractor, and hopefully the hydro trans will hold out on the new engine for a long while.
