I am considering going this route because the M is stock drawbar and have the plow, disc harrow and spring tooth to go with it. Any input/experience with these machines, pros?cons? would be welcome.
A 4 footer runs about 1800 $ Woods? and need to knock down 3 acres of 2-4 ft brush.
Thanks for the input

i don't know what your looking at but i've never seen a tag along mower with a big enough horse power engine to do anything with but mow grass. i would think you'd need just a regular bush hog to go behind your tractor. i have a neighbor who has a finish mower behind a forty that does a lot of yard each year and he seems happy with it.

a neighbor has a forty-two inch and its junk,,,,,,,,,, I've had to mow him several times so he can keep it down, so the weekharted hog can mow its too small an engine to keep the blades going in brush he bought it at he tractor supply I think,,,, he does not have much of a tractor, a ninteen horse kiote and its helpless so he got the motorized job and is quite dissatisfied with the get-er-done, Hes in the past offered to barrow a mower and tractor but I don't barrowout my stuff so we will see what this year brings to his barn to get his hogging done.

A friend of mine has a 48 inch I believe it is. He put a larger engine on it just to mow his yard. I don't think they would ever work to mow a field.

I have a Swisher 44 inch that I bought at tractor supply for about $1,200. It has a 12.5 Briggs motor. I tow it behind my M. I think it is a nice little tool for towing behind an M, since the M does not have an independent PTO. I have done a lot of cutting with it and have been very pleased. As long as you give this thing time to work, it will serve you well.
