Hi, Uncle Buck! Yes you can get a new throttle shaft kit from JD or a Kohler dealer, assuming you have an 8 or 10HP Kohler in your 110. It will only be a shaft and seal, though. If it has the ball type linkage on top, you may also have to buy it, some don't come with the ball attached as the original, and the replacement has a thread and nut. Also need to buy the screws for the butterfly.
Many times the shaft wears badly and the carb. body will still be serviceable. Best bet is to disassemble it and check the body with a .250" dia. rod, (or dia. of the shaft) that will tell you how bad it is. Supposedly, Kohler has a kit with special drills and bushings, to repair the body, but I have yet to find a dealer who can come up with a part number for it. Likely, this kit would be OK for doing several carb. repairs, but for just one, a new carb. or good used one would be more practical. I'd also be leary of a piloted drill aligning top and bottom in an egg shaped hole.
If you get a different carb., most peple don't like the Walbro. The lack of a hi-speed adjustment can be a real problem. Stick with the Carter/Kohler models, with adjustments, made before the emissions controls police took over.
Anyhow, take your engine spec. number and the carb. with you when you go looking for parts. There is more than one carb. used on these engines, and countermen/women like to match them up, so you only have to make one trip.
If you have a lathe, boring and bushing is fairly easy after you get the body mounted to the faceplate and lined up!
Good luck, hope a new shaft will be all you need.
