Mark, I hope it's ok with you that I pinned this topic to the top. Seems like a pretty good place to post all the show info, and give folks something to look forward to other than shoveling snow.
Anybody know what all is planned for either Indiana or central Florida this year?

I think I will try Berrien Springs , good people & good site for a show that's a little closer to me .
The last few times I went to TC,s show they had not that many tractors & alot of the same tractors as before.
I guess I should have expected that as the shows were about an hour apart or so .
I thought they were going on the road across the country ? maybe they meant across IA ?

In answer to your last statement, yes, it was our intention to move the Expo to different areas of the U.S on occasion, but 9/11 changed all that. When we had the Expo in Moline two years ago, our insurance costs nearly tripled---just because we'd crossed a state line. Quite simply, having the Two-Cylinder Expo in locations outside Iowa just isn't financially feasible anymore---as it is, our cost for insurance runs well into five figures.
Despite rumors I've heard to the contrary, we're glad that there are large regional shows like the Ohio Expo, New York Expo, etc, and hope they do well. Given the price of fuel and lodging these days, it's a tremendous expense for many exhibitors and spectators to journey very far from home, which we understand. That's the primary reason we shortened Two-Cylinder XVI by a day for this year, figuring that it would save many exhibitors and spectators at least one and perhaps two nights of lodging expense, which would offset some of the transportation costs.
That being said, I'm gonna tease you a bit-----at Two-Cylinder XVI, there is going to be a special display featuring stunning re-creations of two one-of-a-kind JD prototype tractors. I can't say what they are at this time, but I've seen one of them, and these two tractors are gonna knock your socks off!!
Whichever show you decide to attend, (and all listed are good ones), enjoy yourself and be careful out there!!

Well, I am definitely going to the Eastern National in Springfield, Ohio

(Already got the vacation time planned around it.)

18 miles or so away...
Then, I would like to go to the Mad River Valley Steam Thresher's Show in Urbana, Ohio...

it is only 10 miles away...
And then, I haven't been to the Miami Valley Steam Thresher's Show in Plain City, Ohio for 5 or 6 years, would like to go to it, also. It is about 20 or so miles away.

(6-7 May 2006, Southwest Wisconsin Two-Cylinder Club, Boscobel, Wisconsin) This show is one I never miss, and one that never disappoints.
It is held in a nice, flat city park, it's early in the year before the summer heat sets in, and they alway have a vast array (usually in the neighborhood of 100 or so) of tractors - John Deere ONLY. The grassy park eliminates the dust or mud usually experienced with common, ordinary threshing shows.
The club has developed a remarkable display arrangement where each tractor is individually cordoned off, and there is a wide space between each display "pen". This allows the spectator to walk around each unit and take a good look at it with whatever perspective you'd like. Much, much better than shows where tractors are crammed in axle-to-axle, and you're forced to walk to the end of the row and return if you want to look at the other end of the tractor. And fortunately, the park is large enough to allow this type of display.

I "plan" on taking the 820 to the Indiana State Fair and up to the Portland, IN show in August. Elnora would be nice, but don't know how I'd get it there. I have a friend who can haul me to Indy and Portland pretty easy, but much further's a problem (scheduling).
I'd love to go to Pinckneyville if I could get it there; and seeing one of those shows in Kansas would be a blast.

There are a couple shows down here I try to hit each year.
One is a plow day held out there on Donnie Moore's farm near Fort Campbell and hopkinsville, KY. It had about 70-80 plowing tractors I seem to recall, and several more just sitting around out in the field, over 120 I know of. Has always been fun there. Not a lot of commercialization (did I spell that right?) but it is always fun and just off Interstate 24 a few minutes so getting there is easy. This is the 3rd Saturday in October every year.
Otter Creek park has a show in September or October also. This one is near Fort Knox (20 mi south of Louisville KY). It has some neat local and regional displays. Threashing demos, a little 5 acre field if you wanted to plow or work horses or something, and a real interesting self-propelled New Idea Baler; THAT is something you don't see every day. (Well unless you own one).
I understand there is a show in Tennessee I want to check out this year, if I can find it, and can get the leave approved...
Anyway, that is my plan for the show circuit 2006. Unless I hear of more, or see some on here that I can get to.

For those of you interested I have a list of Antique Equipment/Tractor Shows that are within a 2 hour driving radius of Wheeling WV. This encompasses Eastern Ohio and Western Pensylvania along with the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia. The list can be found by going to the following link, www.wgcata.com and looking under the Antique Equipment Shows on thier home page. As their are over 80 shows each in Pennsylvania and Ohio this gives kind of a regional aspect of what is occurring in our area.
If your in the area check out our little country fair here in Wheeling WV. in October at the following web site, www.ohiocountycountryfair.org

Ohio Two-Cylinder Club What I like about this show is if it rains there is enough black top to hold the entire show on (No Mud!!!). This fair groungs used to be an air port. It sure is a long line of green looking down that old run way.

Went to a small antique tractor pull at the Warren County Fair (Pittsfield, Pa), JD did well. The Pro's run friday. The Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Assn has their show next weekend 8/19-20 in Stockton, NY. Their theme this year is haying equipment. Its a nice little show, tractor parade, pull, stationary engines, etc. FYI Chautauqua is the western most county in NY (the farthest point from NYC).

I must admit to feeling envious - all these exotic place names and all I can do is dream!! Here in the UK I shall attend the Somerset Vintage Tractor Show in Early February then there is Stockley and Heddington Steam Fair in June followed by the Dorset Steam Fair in late August. There will also be a couple of local shows like the Frome Cheese Show. All these will be within a 50 mile radius of home - we don't travel far in the UK!!

If anyone is interested in going to a indoor tractor pull in Southern IL, there is going to be one at DuQuoin, IL. It is March 8, 9, & 10.
Here is a link for the info on the pull if anybody is interested.

With the amount of people that are on this site, it seems that one could find a show within a 100-mile radius of a location every weekend during the spring, summer, and fall. It doesn't matter if you are in the Midwest or on the east coast. Place some shows on here so those of us getting into the hobby can look at something besides people arguing if this part or that came from the factory. Even a small town anniversary with five pieces would help; maybe next year it could be six! The start of the season is fast approaching; help the attendance a little bit.
